Mary teaches Vinyasa Flow, Slow Flow, Classical Hatha Yoga, and Yin Yoga. She will work with you individually to discover your personal needs and tailor each session to help you find the strength, serenity, flexibility, and flow that your body and soul are seeking.
Class Descriptions:
Vinyasa Flow: A flowing yoga class focused on syncing breath to movement as we transition from one posture to the next. Vinyasa helps to build strength and flexibility while you work to cultivate concentration and stillness of mind, following the breath and tuning in deeply to your body. A basic understanding of yoga poses and breathing techniques is recommended.
Slow Flow: This practice is about finding breath within movement and observance within stillness. Building strength in flexibility, cultivating concentration, and finding clarity while calming the mind. Moves a bit slower than vinyasa. Great for all levels.
Classical Hatha: A 75- to 90-minute classical Hatha practice begins with meditation, pranayama, and flowing movement exercises to warm up the body. Afterward, we'll move into a series of longer-held asanas designed to build strength and flexibility while opening up the energy channels to allow prana to flow freely. In this practice, we encourage you to draw your attention inwards to cultivate a meditative state of mind, body, and spirit.
Yin: This quiet practice is designed to deepen flexibility in the joints and clarity and tranquility in the mind. A handful of poses held for an extended period of time in restful space allows you to deepen into meditation and observe your thoughts. Perfect for all levels, this is a meditation on letting go, relaxing the body and mind.
